When was the last time you had a sandwich? Now think about the word sandwich… it’s a funny one, isn’t it?

According to the BBC and the British Sandwich Association, the sandwich is named after its supposed inventor, John Montagu, 4th Earl of Sandwich. It is said that over 250 years ago the Earl asked for the particular serving (beef served between slices of bread) so that he could eat while continuing to play cards. His friends requested "to have the same as Sandwich” and thus, the popular sandwich was born!

If you love a good sandwich you will love the range at Cafe Lingo. Made with thick bread and packed with fresh and tasty fillings, it’s the perfect lunch for dine-in or takeaway.

Order your own creation or pick from the menu - we’ve listed some of our favourites below!
