HAPPINESS HACK #5: CHAKRA CLEANSING DAY 4

💚 Day 4- Heart Chakra 💚

The Sanskrit word for the heart chakra is Anahata, which means "unstruck" or "unhurt". The name implies that beneath the hurt and grievances of past experiences lies a pure and spiritual place where no hurt exists. This fourth chakra is at the centre of the seven chakras, with three above and three below - the area where physical and spiritual meet.

Located at the centre of the chest, the Heart Chakra comprises of the heart, cardiac plexus, thymus gland, lungs, and breasts. It also rules the lymphatic system. A closed heart chakra can give way to grief, anger, jealousy, fear of betrayal, and hatred toward yourself and others. When it is open, you are flowing with love and compassion; you are quick to forgive, and you accept others and yourself.

To help open your heart chakra, it is great to practice empathy and compassion. Put yourself in another's shoes and ask yourself, 'what else are they going through?'. Though you may or may not know the answer, opening yourself up to the possibilities allows you to empathise with them.

HAPPINESS HACK #5: CHAKRA CLEANSING DAY 3

💛 Day 3 - Solar Plexus 💛

Also called the Manipura, the third chakra is a source of personal power, governs self-esteem, warrior energy and the power of transformation. A clear and healthy third chakra makes you feel confident, self-motivated, and have a strong sense of purpose.

Your solar plexus is located around the navel area of the body near your upper abdomen and breastbone. It is also connected with the digestive system. When this chakra is blocked, you can suffer from low self-esteem, have difficulty making decisions, and may have anger or control issues.

To heal, strengthen your inner fire by closing your eyes and placing your hand over the area slightly above your belly button. Think of a problem or dilemma you are facing, and take note of how your solar plexus is feeling. Do you have a sinking or nauseating feeling? Or do you feel a lightness and your breath easing? Tuning inward to your solar plexus can be very beneficial when making choices regarding situations you are struggling with.

HAPPINESS HACK #4: CHAKRA CLEANSING DAY 2

🧡 Day 2 - Sacral Chakra 🧡

Your Sacral Chakra (also known as Svadhisthana) is the second in your seven chakras. Opening your second chakra encourages feelings of wellness, abundance, pleasure, and joy. To awaken your creative energy, you need to release past beliefs and limitations of what you can and can't do.

This Sacral Chakra is located above the pubic bone and below the navel, encompassing the genital region and the hypogastric plexus. When this chakra is out of balance, a person may experience emotional instability, fear of change, dysfunction, depression, or addiction. The energy of the Sacral Chakra is feminine, passive, and lunar.

To balance this chakra, honour and respect your body, and bring some creativity into your daily life. Delve into emotions you are holding on to and process them, letting go of those that no longer serve you.

Give 'Ida Nadi' breathing a go. Close your right nostril with two fingers, and breathe through your left nostril for 8-10 breaths. Meditating while focusing on the Sacral Chakra is also recommended for clearing blockages.

HAPPINESS HACK #3: CHAKRA CLEANSING DAY 1

❤️ Day 1 - Root Chakra ❤️

Muladhara or the root chakra is one of the seven primary chakras according to Hindu tantrism. It is symbolised by a lotus with four petals and the colour red.

It is important to keep this balanced so that you have a solid foundation. The root chakra is comprised of whatever grounds you to stability in life, such as your everyday basic needs - food, water, shelter, etc. This chakra is located at the base of the spine, the pelvic floor, and the first three vertebrae. It is responsible for your sense of safety and security.

When there is an imbalance in the root chakra you may experience anxiety disorders, fears, or nightmares. Physical imbalances may manifest as problems in the colon, with the bladder, with the lower back, leg, or feet. Eating disorders may also be a sign of a root chakra imbalance.

To heal, meditation helps to connect you to a higher plane and serves to ground you. The use of yoga, mantras, colours, and gems may also aid with opening up a blocked chakra. Chanting or toning sounds help bring you back to balance, just as music brings people together. Sounds help to create vibrations that reverberate through the body - vibrations that help the cells work together in synchronistic harmony.

HAPPINESS HACK #2: GETTING RETRO(GRADE)

Mercury, who? It’s time for Neptune to get in retrograde.

While Neptune retrograde happens every year, due to its timing and what we've been experiencing lately, its effects may be felt more than usual.

In astrology, Neptune, the mythical ruler of the sea, is associated with fantasy, illusion, escape, creativity, and dreams. During retrograde, the Neptunian fog is lifted, and you have the ability to see past the illusions that have been holding you back. This will allow us to manifest hopes and dreams that align with our new reality.

Honesty is a recurring theme throughout this retrograde. It can make you question what is true and what is an illusion. It is important to communicate honestly with yourself, and others. This isn't a time to feed negative thoughts - work to have compassion for your past self and for others.

What elements can expect...

FIRE 🔥 Aries, Leo, Sagittarius: Detox your mind and body - fine tune your intuition and trust yourself more.

EARTH 🌏 Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn: Give yourself a break from being everyone's rock, and focus on your own self care.

AIR 💨 Gemini, Libra, Aquarius: Be honest and confront yourself - what are you ignoring in your life or what are you putting off?

WATER 💧 Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces: Trust your intuition! Love, accept, and remain secure in yourself, and take time to turn to grounding practices to help you feel balanced.

Given that this Neptune retrograde will take place over an extended period of time (through to November 28, 2020), it’s good practice for all signs to be reflective and honest about where they see themselves in relation to their ‘dream life’ or future goals. And that’s not to say that your dreams now won’t come to fruition! In fact, this retrograde is a huge celestial opportunity to make sure everything is in alignment.
